The people

Cathy Mulligan
Founder & Principal Researcher
Cathy Mulligan is a world leading expert on digital technology, the data economy, and their consequences for society, institutions, and the environment. Over twenty years she has built a reputation for analysis that is rigorous, independent, and — critically — actually useful to the people who have to make decisions.

She has advised leading governments, international institutions, and major corporations across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. She has spent two decades developing a deep understanding of how digital systems work, how they fail, and what needs to change — and she brings that understanding directly to the organisations she works with. She founded Digital Crossroads to make that depth of expertise accessible to the institutions and leaders who need it most in a time of dramatic change.
Phil Godsiff
Principal Researcher
Dr. Phil Godsiff is a researcher and thought leader specialising in digital economy, blockchain, and financial systems. His work explores how emerging technologies are reshaping value creation, governance, and sustainability across industries. Phil holds an MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Management from the University of Exeter.

He has worked across academia and industry, contributing to research and policy discussions on digital finance, decentralised systems, and the future of economic models.

WORKSHOPS

The best ideas often emerge when the right people are brought into the same room.

Digital Crossroads designs and runs working workshops for technologists, policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers tackling challenges no single group can solve alone.

Each session is built around a clear question and designed to produce tangible outputs: from frameworks and recommendations to the foundations of a working prototype.
Not away-days. Working sessions that create something new for the digital era we are living through.

STRATEGIC ADVISORY

The data economy demands a different kind of strategy.

Digital Crossroads advises senior leaders and policymakers who need rigorous, independent analysis rooted in how digital systems actually work — not vendor agendas or recycled frameworks.

We help institutions understand their landscape, identify real risks and opportunities, and design strategies built for the conditions of the 21st century.

TRAINING

Understanding the data economy is now a leadership requirement.

Digital Crossroads delivers tailored training for senior leaders, policymakers, and teams who need more than surface-level digital literacy. Our programmes are built around the decisions organisations actually face — from AI and data infrastructures to digital finance and emerging digital architectures.

Delivered by researchers and practitioners with deep, current expertise, our training helps organisations build the confidence and capability to act in a fast-moving digital landscape.

STRATEGIC FUTURES

The organisations best placed for the next decade are already preparing for it.

Digital Crossroads offers strategic futures work grounded in technical depth and evidence. We help institutions read the signals already emerging across the data economy, understand what they mean, and act before change becomes urgent.

From emerging technologies to regulatory shifts, we help organisations ask better questions, assess what is coming, and build the capacity to think clearly about the future.
Structured foresight. Built on evidence.
